Rosa Maria has been working at Mercado do Bolhão for 47 years. The family business started with her grandmother, also called Rosa, who was in the market for 60 years as a florist. In Rosa's memories are her escaping from school, when she was just 7 years old, to come and work with her grandmother in Bolhão. At the age of 23, she bought what would become her stall until the present. Over the years, two children were born, who were raised in what is the family's second home. Her youngest son is even one of the "boys of Bolhão," that is, one of the children well known to all stall owners, who has been always in the market since a very early age.

Rosa Maria confides to us that she loves working in Bolhão, as it was in the market that she raised her family, attracted customers, and made friends that she will keep forever.
