Delícia do Porto

Stall: 21

Delícia do Porto was distinguished in 2019, under a competition between pastry chefs, chefs, and confectioners, who were asked to create sweets that would portray the city of Porto, based on values such as memory, history, creativity, authenticity, and flavour. Delícia do Porto took inspiration from the ingredients used by the Benedictine nuns of the now extinct Saint Benedictine of Hail Mary Monastery. To the sugar, egg yolks, bread, cinnamon, and lemon, were added corn, beans, and caramelized almonds. As for the rest, it will remain as a well-kept secret.

Emotionally linked to the city of Porto, the original format reflects the love it has for the city, and as a way of honouring King Pedro the 4th of Portugal, a fighter and resilient defender of the liberal cause who, in gratitude, donated his heart to the Undefeated City, as Porto is known.
