Sweet Bolhão
Stalls: 104-119
Sandra, the owner of the "Sweet Bolhão" stall, is the third generation of her family selling at Bolhão. Her grandmother Rosário, who lived in Valadares, would come three times a week to the historic market in Porto to sell cabbages, which she brought from her hometown.
Later, in 1986, Sandra's mother, Isabel, established herself in the market to help her mother, and thus they expanded their business, by also selling plants.
In 2015, Sandra decided to change her professional life, and joined her mother and grandmother in the business they had in Bolhão. A few years later, in 2018, Sandra embarked on a different business area by deciding to sell sugar.
Sandra confided to us that her grandmother was right when she said that the stall she had in the market was for her grand-daughter: Despite having completed higher education and having performed other functions, this saleswoman tells us that it is here at Bolhão that she feels happy, that she feels fulfilled, and gets to know the world that passes by.
