The Bolhão Market is dressing up for a celebration once again. During the month of June, the market celebrates São João with a full program that brings the best of Porto's popular tradition.
The celebrations kick off on May 30th with the São João Balloon Workshop and run until June 27th, featuring community "cascata" (traditional miniature shrines) workshops, "Há Fado no Mercado" (Fado at the Market) sessions, and the unveiling of the São João decorations on June 5th.
The highlight comes on June 20th with the "Arraial no Bolhão" (Bolhão Street Party). Jorge Lomba takes the stage at 3:00 PM and Nel Monteiro at 5:00 PM, in an afternoon that promises to fill the market with music and the São João spirit.
